From the Seattle Times, the Fifth & Columbia Tower will restart construction this fall after being delayed for some time. Once completed in 2016, it will be the fifth tallest building in Seattle and the tallest skyscraper constructed here since 1990. Contrasting the cutting-edge building form and its high-tech design features, the project also includes a significant piece of historic preservation: the skyscraper allows the property owners to afford saving the 1908 First Methodist Episcopal Church, a protected historic landmark on the north half of the property.
This project definitely calls for some critical investigation if anyone out there is looking for a case study!
